Is there a 12v coil (say like from a 300 or 400) that looks the same as the 6V coil on a Super M?

When switching over a Super M to 12V, a 12V coil of the same physical dimensions and style as the 6V original would be nice so the resistor and extra wire wouldn't be needed.
I know any 12V coil could be used, but was just thinking that if the style was identical to the original, it wouldn't be so obvious that the 12V conversion had been done.

The aftermarket 12 volt coils will mount and fit in the same location as the original, but do not have the appearance. There IS a 12 volt coil that DOES NOT require that ugly external resistor.

Think the 300,400 LPG and part of the 350 450 LPG tractors used coil # 353875R91 on 12 volts without a resister. Steiner and OEM did sell a coil that replaces that number according to there parts info. Same size as originals. This site may have them also, have to look. Later when 350 and 450 gas went to 12 volts IH used a coil with a external resister on LPG and gas with a resister bypass setup when starting. That coil was also used in 6 volt tractors. Diesel tractors with 12 volts and battery ignition changed coils 3 or 4 times. Most were 6 volt and some with resister. A resister can be put up under the hood with a 12 gauge copper wire down to coil. May get by with a 14 gauge.

Check carefully! Steiner's website says that coil also requires the external resistor. That coil is an exact replacement for the original 6V coil 353875R1.

Didn't look at the website just a old book from both companys.
353874R91 should be a 6 volt IH coil #. 353875R91 IH type was used on some 12 volt tractors without a resister. Have no idea what they sell, just whats claimed.
