Line Boring

I am slowly (as money allows) rebuilding my 450 diesel. Once I find a set of main and rod bearings I will need to have my crank ground. I have heard people mention having their block line bored. Is this something I should do? I have read some previous posts, but am still not sure what it does. Thanks

Have it checked. It makes sure the crankshaft main caps & bearings are inline to required tolerances. You usually don't have to have it actually bored unless your using new or different main caps.
