how critical is the timing. all the gears are on there marks, and the mark on the flywheel on the pointer, the rotor is on the #1 of the dist. cap just as the fliper of the magneto flips is fliping or is the fuel system not rite? check the carb and did adjust the flotes and cleaned it out. it dosnt want to pop on this rebuild... do i need to rotate the mag some? or what mite be wrong>? thanks very much;;......
 
The mag should trip just at TDC.
If the timing is off 180, the wires can be moved 2 places around clockwise to see if it is just that!

Is the way it came with CW rotation
# One plug at the radiator.
try
3-4
1-2 just to see if it is180 out.
If no joy there,
Put it back and put a squirt of gasoline in each cylinder and try it that way you know it has fuel.

If you have the plug wires in this firing order I would try pulling it in 3rd gear and see if it will start. Hal

2-1
4-3 as the rotor rotates CW.
 
thanks, guys. ther has been a time when i have pulled it and the rear tires want to go oppisit derections and why would that be? but i will try moveing the wires just to see. thanks..
