totally new the the tractor thing...just picked up a mid 70s IH 2500a. there is no pto shaft, just a cover on the casing where there would be. wondering how to go about getting a shaft and the parts to hook up?

Some were equipped with a TA if it has a TA there is better odds on finding and installing a IPTO. If no TA and shuttle trans, or Other options, the PTO might not be as easy or it might need to be a Non live PTO (trans driven)
Check the caseih.com web site, it might show the tractor if you put in the model # when searching for parts. Attachments should find PTO options. Jim
