Just received some literature on a new model from the Case-IH website. The letterhead has CNH America LLC, CASE-IH, and FIAT GROUP logos.

What does FIAT have to do with red tractors ?

Fix It Again Tony owns em!

Rick

Tenneco owns them all
Case bought out Drott and Fiat equipment line in the 70's i think Tenneco bought case and IH and others

FIAT ownes CIH/CNH. Tennoco bought out IH in 1985 but FIAT took over FORD/NEW HOLLAND-CIH guessing around ten years ago. I can't keep up anymore who ownes what.

(quoted from post at 05:23:29 04/14/11) OMFG indeed! We all should immediately revert to picks, hoes and scythes for our farming needs.

Unfortunately, all the picks, hoes, and scythes are made in China. What to do...

LOL or dump the red ones and buy yellow and green....ops, I didn't just say that on IH site!....LOL

well, your replies lead me to look it up

Fiat Industrial, on Milan Stock Exchange, owns 89.3% of CNH Global, and FIT--Fiat Powetrain Technologies

this link gives all the world-wide (country) locations of CNH plants

Yes, and New Holland & NH Construction are part of the family.

Yes, the come from Pakistan and Turkey now !

Back when I was still working, I kept up with who owned who, but been retired 8 1/2 years and can't keep up. All of them were big customers of ours (JD [u:4b2ed4c9e7]was[/u:4b2ed4c9e7] the biggest), at least before Eaton bought us out. Then they drove off many of our biggest customers with their attitude.

Fiat is the parent company of New Holland who bought out Case IH. Tenneco owned Case who bought out IH. Tenneco has nothing to do with them anymore.

Fiat also own Iveco, who sells the Cummins B series, as their own, which it is, since it is built through a joint venture between Cummins and Case.

That's why the construction equipment is now running the Iveco motor. It's a B series, with the geartrain driven off the back of the crank instead of the front. It looks like it's mounted backwards.
