Farmall Super M oil Filter

Any one now the Fram equivalent of the oil filter for a Farmall Super M? I'm gonna change all the fluids friday and getting the stuff tomorrow and my book is back home. Also I'm gonna put SAE 30 in it. Any objections?

I've used Fram C136A in my Super M with no problems. Also Purolator L40011 and Baldwin PT70 have worked fine. Suggest using whichever you can most easily find.

Tip: Be sure to dig ALL of the old gasket from the groove in the filter base! Then put in the new gasket that comes with the filter.

SAE 30 oil will work fine in warm weather. However if you're gonna be wanting to start the tractor in temps colder than about 40 deg, 10W30 or 15W40 is a better choice.

The Baldwin PT70 is furnished with the new gasket. I'm not so sure about the other brands anymore. The last filter I got from NAPA did NOT have the gasket.

That is what I was going to say next. I got screwed on my CarQuest fuel filters. I tried to support my uncle during his filter days and then I had to go to CNH and buy gaskets for both filters. It ended up costing more than just going to CNH for the filters.

Unless the FRAM filter disintegrates inside the engine, it can't do any better or worse than any other filter in these engines...

The oil filtration system is supposedly a "bypass" system, where only some of the oil gets filtered every time through the pump.
