Rim Removal

I decided I was tired of the right side tire sitting half flat on the H and am gonna take it off. I have a new rim and different tire to put on as the CaCl in the rim thats on it now ate pieces of the rim and the tire is not as tall as the other side and the stem won't take air. Sooo my question is where do you guys jack it up so it doesn't mess up anything. I wouldn't think it would but don't wanna try. Thanks for the help

I used an old house jack. about a 2 foot ratcheting on and put it right under the axle housing on the side of the tire you are taking off. I don't know if its right but it worked for me.

My preference is to put a jack stand under the axle housing or the axle itself if room. You won't mess up anything unless it falls of the jack, which it might -- thus the jack stand.

I think the safest way is to jack in up under axle and place 8X8 hardwood blocks under drawbar then let it down on blocks to work on it. IMO jack stand is OK on concrete but about useless on soft ground.
