Just bought a 403 combine with a 263 gas motor. Does the combine version of this motor produce more HP and torque? Thanks for any replies. doorman

The 263 in the 403 produced 90 hp.Measured at the flywheel. I have no idea about the torque. Good engine but very thirsty. Changed mine out with a D282 much more fuel efficient than the 263.

hi guys, just read this and i am intrestedin istaling a d282 that is available at work.its from a 706. i have a 282 lp from a 503 that i have for parts but the parts book says that i to change some parts.is it worth the efort. gaston

Gaston,

Installing the D282 in WHAT, exactly?

You said it's from a 706, then you say you've got an LP 282 from a 503 combine? It's confusing...

The LP 282 and Diesel 282 are two completely different engines AFAIK. They are not interchangeable.

gaston if you are planning on putting the D282 in your combine you will need the front cover off a D282 or a D301 out of either a 403 or a 715.

ok,the one that i can get is from a 706 (d282) diesel. the one that i have is from my parts combine (503 Lp 282).I am restoring a 1962 403c.the 403 is a three diget VIN number.
