Early H4 magneto kill swith

I have looked at everything I have access to, and cannot find a picture or reference for the early kill switch setup. I have a few schematics of the engine area only, and my parts books are mid-40's and I haven't found reference to that.

If anyone knows where I can find a picture of the cable attachment and also the setup on the steering post, conrol panel, etc, I would be very appreciative. I am looking to use that on my 1939 A that I am putting back together.

The knob end fastened on a bracket on the right side of the throttle. With the exhaust lift that bracket had a hole for the end. Finding an original would be almost impossible. Ive only seen a couple and have been to many many shows.I have some sales literature showing the knob end but same pictires also show stuff like a molded seat. There was an A sold nearby had serial# 1605 if i remember had several attachments. I told the son to buy all of it but i didnt go to the sale tractor was in great shape and so were the attachments.

Thanks Gene, and I agree, unless someone has one stashed as NOS, it is going to be a real challenge. I have a couple of the assemblies that go on the mag, so no issues there......it is the rest of it that I need to see or find.

I will fabricate parts/pieces if I need to, and probably will have to.......just need a picture(s).

It seems the mechanical slide that is on the mag are hard to find but have seen them for sale. I have never seen an original cable for sale or even on a tractor and have only seen 2 pictures. I ended up makeing mine useing a choke cable and I took the knob off and threaded the end. I then took and turned out a new knob useing the one picture as refrence. I then used a big letter stamp to put the "S" in the middle..I think it turned out decent. If you want to shoot me an email I will send you the pictures.

I knew I had some pictures of an original somewhere. Needed to look for them. Fortunately, PaulG found them for me.

(quoted from post at 11:20:27 04/10/11) I think the bracket is the same as when the kill wire switch is used.
Different part. The bracket is bent so it angles down a bit. I think without the angle, the cable would be aimed towards the fuel rather than below it. The hole may be a smaller diameter too.

I'm also looking for this hook-up information for my 1940 H. Have you had any luck?

The bracket arraignment used to route the stop cable is probable in correct. The current parts catalogue shows two brackets used.

The stop knob is incorrect. The originals used a know approximately the same size but it had the letter S in the middle. Mine is modified from the electrical kill switch's knob used on later models.

The bracket on the steering support should be correct in bend and angle. I had to blend mine back as a previous owner modified it to be used with the electrical stop switch.
