I have a 1946 BN that was changed over to 6 volt sealed beam head lights. I bought a new 6 volt bulb headlight and went to hook it up today and the new one does not work. My ? is, since the bulb is grounded inside the light and the sealed beam has a ground wire going to the frame is the two different type of light not working together. The rear is still the 6 volt bulb ant it works fine with the old light(but wired straight to the switch). I am hoping not to have to buy a new light. Any ideas?

Just make sure the ground wire from the lite goes to a good ground and the other goes to the same post as the rear. Ive got them on the B with loader and they work fine getting a good ground isnt always easy on these old tractors..

So I should run the positive from the new light to the back light? Since I took the ground off the older sealed beam light and the new one did not work?

You should be using pos for ground unless domeone has changed it and to make sure you have a good ground you can run a wire from the battery ground to the lites
