H steering problem?

If I turn to far either way on my H I lose steering. I know there is supposed to be a pin or bolt sticking up on one of the 4 lower bolster bolts but there's not on mine. Can I put a longer bolt in one of the holes upside down to fix this? If I can which hole does it need to be in.

If memory serves the special, extended stop bolt goes in the right front flange hole. You can tell for sure by peeking at the underside of the upper bolster casting. There will be a crescent-shaped slot for the stop bolt head fit into.

Using a longer bolt installed upside down will probably work. You might want to slip a piece of soft copper tubing or similar over the exposed threads however. Otherwise the bolt threads are likely to become boogered after a while making it hard to remove later.
