I am installing a new clutch in my 1949 M. I was not paying attention when it came out and there was no sticker on the new clutch to tell me which way to face it when I intall the new one. Can anyone give me a hand. One side of the friction disc is flat at the splines and the other sticks out a little.

There should be some curved metal strips (for lack of a better description) in the center of one side of the disk. Those go to the rear away from the flywheel.

yes , thats right whats the matter with me.i guess working it out in your head is not like hands on.

Fat side out. Put it fat side in and you will figure it out pretty quickly that you have it wrong.
Don't forget to leave the 1/4" bolts in until you get the tractor back together. Make it push together easier. Then, don't forget to take them out!
