806 Auction Price,a little ridiculas!

Went to an estate sale today. They had an 806 gas, with a huge hole in the LH side of the block, rod went through it. Had good tires,wf,1 remote, and fasthitch.Flat top fenders were rough, the rest of the steel was ok. Shift linkage was completely worn out,it had an 856 bellhousing.the tractor looked rough,it brought $2800,i thought that was pretty high without knowing the condition of the trans, clutch,or ta! what do you guys think?

True, but I bought my 766 gasser last summer for $2500. It's got a thirsty but powerful gas engine, almost new front 3 ribs, and like new 18.4x34s on the back. Cornhusker add-on 3 point. That's a complete running relatively nice looking tractor!

So yes, I'd say a little ridiculous.

I was standing by the guy that brought that tractor. Overheard him say he had a 806 Diesil at home and brought the one today for some parts he needed. Sounded like he was going to build one good one between the two.

There's easily $2800 worth of saleable parts on that tractor.

You said the tires were good... In this day and age I don't know if you could put tires on an 806 for $2800. Plus they'll fit many other tractors.

we bought an 806 diesel about 2 years ago. it had a good motor, 2 remotes, 2 ptos, a 16.9x38 loaded tire on the left and an 18.4x38 on the right not loaded. guy said he blew the other 16.9 so he bought a pair of used 18.4's and only put the one on. the real down side, the high range was out. so we bought for $3600. brought it home the other 16.9 blew out so put the 18.4 that he sent along on it. about $7-800 in parts from wenz service in Nebraska it it runs good. then we decided to put new tires on. bought 2 new 18.4x38's and had them mounted and loaded for about $1500. the only other problem we have had is the fuel pump leaking and since its and RD pump it is hard to find some one to work on it much less parts. over all we probably have about $7000 in it and it runs good. dad thinks it would out pull our other 806 that has a turbo in it.
