240, 240U and SC

I know the 240 is in the model number progression of the SC. How does the 240 and 240U differ differ other than manufacturer? are they not the same tractor?
I recon my real question is will a 240 or a 240u wide front be a bolt on fit under my SC's? From what I see the 240 front looks different.
How about a fast hitch from the 240U?

Maby instead of stealing parts, I should just rebuild the 240U?

Not quite sure what you mean by the 240 and 240U having a different manufacturer... both made by International Harvestor.
As for the wide front, the 240U has a totally different front end, and you don't want oneof them anyway... kind of a weak spot... even the next in line 404 utility was different. I don't know if the 240 row crop wide front will fit a Super C.
being a lower utility model, the Fast hitch is probably different from the RC 240 and most certainly different from the Super C, 200 and 230. Pretty sure the only other one that will fit a SC would be the 200.

Looking at my TC-53B Parts Catalog for the tractor models Farmall 200,230 and 240 along with the International 240 there is no interchange between any of them and the Int. 240 Utility which is it's own animal. The Farmall 240 is also different but similar to the the 200 and 230 tractors. I'm sure the Super C and 200 and 230 will interchange between themselves and probably the C as well but don't have a C catalog. You will just have to rebuild the 240U or find a front end from another 240U only is my read on that part of your question.
On the fast hitch issue the hitch on the Super C is also much different then the one on the 240 tractors as those incorporated a later design with the tel-a-depth draft control system which wasn't on the Super C or 200 models. Also, the fast hitch on the 240's accepted the larger point implements while the Super C and 200 would only accept the small point equipment. There are lots of other differences between the fast hitches as well but these are certainly show stoppers. Best of luck and success in your rebuilds, Hal.

Don,t know that much about the front ends but the fast hitches are completly different. Some fast hitch parts will interchange with a 230 some will not. Hitch parts from a 200 will swap with SC as will the front end.
