I don't think you can install them from the bottom with the crankshaft installed. Make sure you have number on the rod and caps facing the cam shaft. Hal
 
just a couple of tips if you have never installed them before. use a coffee can with about a quart of new clean motor oil in it to dunk the piston in just before installation, use a piston ring compressor to compress the rings. also, i use 2 lengths of rubber fuel line over the connecting rod bolts when installing the pistons to protect the crankshaft from the conn rod bolts. pretty easy to nick the crankshaft with the bolt threads.
