Hi guys, 1950 C witch carburator do you prefer?
Zenith or Carter. Have a carter not sure if I like it seems to flood gas out when choking.
I have Zenith on other Farmall and don't have this problem. oldiron29

I have totally rebuilt both the Carter and the Zenith. The Zenith is by far the best of the two.
 
I like the Zenith better, but I have taken the Carters apart to cleaned, adjusted and used a new rebuilding kit with satisfaction. Sounds like the float needs adjusting on your Carter? It may be sticking or hitting to one side, it needs to work freely. Also it may be the float is too high allowing to much gas into the bowl? Do you have a manual?

Bob, I have been in alot of Zeniths. I can't say I have any Carter other than this one. I opened it up today and found the forks that hold the float axle pin where spread to far apart and the pin was half out. I reset them and got the float working but did not reset the float level. Mabe that will be next. oldiron29
