Does anyone know if the x1A prefix means all of the gears are lower, first and reverse lower or what? How much slower are they than regular speeds? Thanks, Andy

ANDY, I can't find my note now but I think X6 is slow speed gears & X 1 is gas engine. Just guessing I think it is about 1 mph slower than reg gears but not sure. Its hell to get old can't remember but if you die at 50 I doubt if you would have all of the aches & pains. Good luck GENE

I thought X1 was high compression/gas engine as well.

I thought I heard it was low, low first gear, but I really don't know a lot about that subject.

First and reverse around one MPH slower than standard. Low speed drive gear on the countershaft is made on the shaft. So you have dog and also spline drive PTO type countershafts for the low speed. Second gear is the same ratio as standard, but is special to the low, low. Reverse idler and F&R sliding gear also different.

Thats right the X1 is high compression gas, but the A followed by it indicates the low low first. There are many other combonations out there as well. dist with low gear, high alt. with low gear, low first with high 4th etc etc. All have diffrent tag codes.
