Cub Ring gear

I am about to try to replace a damaged ring gear in my 1948 Cub. At first look it appears that both side gears, wheels and axels and transmision need to be dissambled. Is it really that bad?? As usual thanks in advance to those who would to comment.

Which "ring gear"? If you mean the differential ring gear, then yes that requires complete disassembly of the transaxle assembly.
After ring gear replacement, the mesh and backlash need to be adjusted by adding and removing shims on the differential bearing carriers and the lower transmission pinion shaft.
It would be best to replace a matched set ring gear and pinion from the same tractor. Mixing used gear and pinions from two different tractors could have different wear patterns.
