Valve guides Super A head

just pound them out with hammer and special punch.they come out from top side of head. but yes its machine shop work, unless your set up for it.

Is that the same on a Farmall H also to have a machine shop do it or are they different.

same deal. the thing is once the guides are changed they are fitted and the seats and valves MUST be ground along with the rest of the related requirements, including new seats or valves as nessesary.

Hey Goodman. Where you at? Not many Good men around. I can truthly say that I'm the only GOODMAN here in the Monument, Colorado area (I checked the phone book).

If I have the head off should I automatically get the valves ground? The vac tested them and they are "all seating properly" but then he went on to say there could be other problems. Like $135 or $195 depending if it needs valve guides.

There will never be a better time to do it. It is my experience that ANY time a head is removed the valves should at least be inspected.
