bn final drive

I am trying to replace the axel seals on the final drive assy on my Farmall bn and have removed the seal retainer bolts behind the hub, axel retainer bolt, spacer and washer but am unable to tap the axel shaft out of the assembly.Can anyone give me some tips for removing the shaft? It seems to be a very tight fit in the bearing. The bearing will move within the casting but the shaft will not move out of the bearing.

Once the retainer bolt on the inside end of the axle has been removed, you should be able to move the axle outwards. The inner ball bearing needs to come off and it may have a tight fit on the axle. A Service manual and a parts manual will show you how it is assembled. HTH, Hendrik
