Trying to lift my trans. cover this morning but it won"t lift.
Have ll the bolts undone as far as I can see, and the left side of the cover has come up 3/8" or so. Right sside is tight, will not budge.
Any ideas? Don"t want to break anything.
Thanks in advance, guys.

Got 'er. just had to tap it and ooomph it, and I didn;t realize the shifter rails came off with the cover; they were jammed a little bit, since I had lifted the rear-end of the cover first, and the shifter lever has been out getting re-welded.
Come to htink of, it, when this all goes back toeghther, which shifter rail goes where? It may go back correctly, all by itself, but i actually have no idea.
Thanks guys.

If you think about it it'll become apparent which one goes where. When you shift the first/reverse slider the shift knob moves to the left of center, so the tip moves to the right of center and therefore the right hand rail has to go on the first/reverse gear, etc. I did mine by myself and when I put it back on I used wedges and blocks of wood and sort of wiggled the top down slowly, which worked okay.
