international tractor c169 gas eng

With respect and welcome to this site, None of us work without a manual to use as a reference. If we act like we do, it is just not the way it operates. The following was found in the Farmall archives, on this site, with 20 seconds of looking.

Quote from H service manual By CNKS:
"Drive gear keyed to camshaft; one tooth of gear marked to mate between similar marked teeth on magneto gear and cam gear has two teeth marked to straddle similar marked tooth on crankshaft gear at the same time when engine is on No.1 TDC." The IT manual is a little clearer: "---mesh single marked tooth on crankshaft gear between the two marked teeth on camsaft gear; then mesh single marked tooth on camshaft gear between the two marked teeth on magneto gear; the governor gear and idler gear need not be timed to the engine."
The Distributor drive gear is the same.

This is really a discussion forum, and we Kinda like to be chatted with, as it pertains to what you are doing and what you need. Thanks and you are very encouraged to not be discouraged. Jim
