560 Hydraulics cant hold implement up

I have a 560 LP with a 3 point and it will lift an implement but it loses pressure. For instance, with a brush hog I have to constantly bring the 3pt back up and it starts dropping immediately. 20 secs later have to raise it again it keep the blades off the ground, etc.

Also, will the stock pump run a farmhand f11 or do you have to have a pto pump? Thanks for any help.

The most common issue is bypassing lift cylinder. If the piston leaks the fluid just goes from one end to the other, letting the implement drop. There could be check valve issues or internal valve leaks, but less likely.
Use a jack under the Mower to lift until the pressure is off of the hitch. Detach the lines and plug them. Lower the jack. If the mower drops as before it is the cylinder packing, if not it is in valving. Jim

Thanks, I went out and played with it a little tonight. This tractor has a valve to select the 3pt or the remotes. If I raise the 3pt and then switch to remotes, the implement does not drop. So I would assume this would rule out the piston. Which I think leaves two other possibilities, the pump or the spool controls(right?) Either one more common?

Valves and control. If the pump were bad it would not raise, and that is not an issue.
Be sure the control switches on the Valves (I think) are set to double acting. If any one is part way, or wrong it can be directly responsible. On the end of the valve will be a turn knob with a roll pin and sheet metal clip. Check it. Best of my memory. Jim

Plumb one of these into your 3 point circuit.

Ok, I've checked the valve and it was in the correct position. So what actually keeps the fluid from going backwards? the relief valve/pressure control block? or the double acting valve? I'll probably have to tear them both apart to find the issue, but at least I'm getting it narrowed down. Could low fluid have anything to do with this? haven't checked it, but curious. I wouldn't think so. The hydraulics seem strong when moving the 3pt up and down, they just dont stay up.
