I'm looking at an F-12 and 20...might buy both if the price is right. My brother rents from the guy that owns them and I'm told he wants them gone. They're in a shed he wants to tear down and has no desire to keep them. He's a big MM collector and is into crawlers.
The F-12 is loose, seems to have decent compression. It's very complete. Has steel on rear. Single front with rubber. I believe it's a '35 model. I looked the best I could in the dark build and as far as I could tell the block hadn't been repaired and wasn't cracked in the typical places.
F-20 is stuck. It has factory cast hubs and rims all look good. Rear tires have good tread though they don't match. One may be up...other is flat so I'm not sure on it's condition. Front tires look up and are in decent shape. I noticed the seat looked a little different from a lot I've seen. It resembled more of the Monroe easy ride seats on the later letter series, but looked to be made for the F-20. It had factory brake pedals which I know were an option... are these rare? It looked like it had a carb off an M...the air intake coming in from the rear instead of from the front. It does have an auxillary overdrive. I'm not sure which make...it's the one listed in the "Collector's Originality Guide" by Todd Markle...as unknown maker. Someone told me at one time that it may be known as a Road Runner. Owner says it was overhauled not long before it was parked.
He has no idea what to ask at this point. I'm getting the feeling he thinks they're worth a lot more than what anyone would actually pay.
I would like to by both and hopefully get somewhat of a deal by getting them together so he doesn't have to hassle with anyone else.
What do you guys think?
