I'm trying to get the flywheel of my F-20. I got the big nut off of it, but now I can't get the pin out. It's the pin that has a threaded hole in it. Do I just put a bolt in it and spin it out, or do I have to find a way to pull it out? Tell me how you guys do it, Thanks.

The flywheel is a press fit. I used a great big gear puller when I took mine off. I didnt worry about the pin I just let it come with the flywheel. They are very heavy and it is a pain to do. Paul

If I remember right the pin has a threaded hole in it. Set a socket that is larger than the pin over it and find a bolt to drop through the socket and screw into the dowel. Now you have a pin puller.

They are a pain to get out. I had to drill out the pin on my F-30 but my F-20 came right out with the flywheel when I pulled it. As for putting the flywheel back on, well lets just say it took several attempts and I think I made up a few new bad words during the process. I set the flywheel in front of a torpedo heater for a while and touched it with a rose bud. I also put a bag of ice on the crank (you need all you can get). Just remember to use a heat sink on the rear seal felt, I believe it would burn otherwise.

Im with the others Id just leave the pin till you pull the flywheel, it may or may not come with it.
