H govenor

I am replacing the complete govenor on my 50 H. Does the govenor have to be timed? Is there anything special I need to know? Any help will be appreciated.

I just replaced mine - all you may have to do is adjust RPM's once you get it installed.

Synchronize the governor to the carburetor. With the throttle wide open (governor mechanism calling for max air & fuel), the connecting pin should just slide in the carb shaft while lifting the clevis up (wide open throttle on carb).
retighten the 7/16th hex nut to lock the adjustment and don't forget the cotter pin. (1/16" X 1/2")
