Engine speed

Was wondering if anyone can tell me what the rpms can be safely set at on a stage one SH. I know the specs call for 1850 fast idle but I need more road speed. Thanks in advance.

The number is 1815 -- and you do not need more road speed, it's dangerous as it is. I've been driving those tractors off and on for 60+ years.

Your word safely is the key. Skilled operators with dramatic seat time (who are still alive) realize that 18MPH, with high center of gravity, marginal (and willing to lock up until backed up) brakes, no suspension, no roll cage, no airbags, no seatbelt, and an upright seating position for access to airtime, is just right. the enging can handle 2200 but it will not produce more power than it does at PTO speed unless tweaked with different parts. It is just unwise. Jim

Like others have said: A Super H is only marginally safe at stock governed RPM in road gear. And ESPECIALLY so if it has a narrow front, there's any slop in the steering, or if brakes are not perfectly matched.

My advice: Slow down and enjoy the ride!
