They exist.purely homebuilt,as IH never made such an animal. There was one prototype,it was destroyed(IH fed it to the "scrapmonster")

This is the TA equipped H tested by IH. None of the TA parts interchange with the 300. It was dismantled for wear inspection.

SHTA is an H grille, an H hood, an H gas tank, installed on a 300.

Ideally you'd want a Z-code 300 so it would be manufactured in 1954, but there aren't many of those around.

Not to mention it wasn't a super either. Hmm.

I have a high crop.

Here we go again!!!

A Chinese company should begin reverse engineering gas start diesel run engines from the M series at the smaller proportions of an H!!
There would be thousands sold every year. Thrilling.
I actually like manipulated tractors (or most anything mechanical with modifications) so I cheer on those who splice together equipment. My only issue is with those who would proport it to be OEM factory, rather than a carefully created jewel of imaginative creativity. Jim

Thanks gentlemen,
I had a sneakin hunch that was the case (IH?). Thanks for the replies and information. The seller wants a mint for this machine anyway. Beautiful High crop by the way.

Jim, I agree 100%. Most of todays innovations are the result of someone a long time ago making modifications to a tractor, or combining two machines into just one, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just don't try to convince anyone that it came from the factory that way.

(quoted from post at 08:00:31 03/15/11) Why so many weights?

To make it cry. I asked about it in the SHVTA thread...don't feel bad. The common guess is they wanted to use it like a three plow tractor and really make it beg. This would help assess and accelerate wear of components, especially the TA.

Same boat here. It is neat to see FACTORY LOOKING fabrication. I also like to see things upgraded and all that. Like 650 PS on a W-9 etc.

A modern direct-injection diesel would work better, but would not have the same mystique and you wouldn't get that unique sound when you changed it from gas to diesel.
