After 15 mins. working tractor oil presure drops from 40 to 0. Pulled pump cover sanded down replaced gasket still have same problem. Prevously replaced old gauge (couldn't read) replace with new gauge 0 to 60 psi. Does tractor require special gauge?

oil pressure dropping after engine gets warm is an indication that your engine needs attention. once the oil gets warm is is less viscus and once you have excesive brg. clearance the oil just "runs" past the brgs. the oil is dissapearing faster than the pump can replace it. try a heavier grade oil like #40 , 15-40, 20-50. kind of odd its dropping to zero thats not good. should have at least 10lbs. is this at idle or wot.

The lower end is under full pressure all the time. There are no cam bearings, the block or cam could go bad but I have not seen that happen.
The pressure regulator in the bump could be stuck part way open allowing thinner oil when warm to bypass the gallery. (strong possibility)
The valve gear is lubed by spurts of oil from a cam bearing through a drilling to the top. usually not an issue with pressure.
The mains and rod bearings could be loose and that would cause low pressure. Use plastigauge brand clearance checking methods to determine the status of the lower end. .0015 to .003" are OK clearances. Jim

I would check the pump to make sure the pickup screen is clear of any sludge. I would check the woodruff keys in item nos. 7 & 9 to make sure they haven't sheared. Hal

I would blow some air pressure into the oil gallery to make it isn't plugged and see if there's any pressure on your gauge. Cut the air pressure back to 60 psi so you don't ruin your new gauge. Hal

Sounds like a crank & bearing job if the pump didn't correct it. May as well put in sleeves & pistons too if it wasn't done recently.
