Have had problems similar to this before, but when I have my battery maintainer on my 49' H, The light box gets warm. Then eventually the maintainer quits charging and shows a default.

I have a strong suspicion it is a short somewhere of the light switch.

Any help?

Thanks

There are possibly two resistors on the light switch. One is for the dim lights, and is only energized if the lights are on dim.
The other resistor (if it has a 4 position light switch) is used for adjusting the generator output.
It is grounded to the switch body on one terminal, and is connected to a wire going to the generator field terminal if the generator is using a cutout relay and the 4 position light switch.
If it is heating the box, something inside the box is either wired wrong, or shorted to the box.
