B Farmall Stuck Engine

Finally got her unstuck. After soaking in ATF and Acetone, number 3 cylinder finally let loose last night. I'm honing out the rust in the cylinder wall this weekend and hopefully will have her back together by Sunday night. Does anyone know if a B will pull a two disc drag type breaking plow?

You'll be limited by traction. Remember, that B only weighs a little over a ton without filled tires or weights.

i used my b to pull a 2-14 lil genius plow in the garden for a long time until i got the 240u it will pull it in 1st, doesnt really care for it in 2nd, but if you holler at er a little, she will reluctantly pull it in 2nd. mine has loaded rear tires.

Hmm, maybe I will try my three bottom in the garden this spring :)

(quoted from post at 07:52:16 03/11/11) she'll pull 6-16's.......................as long as you dont drop er in the ground!!!! :)

You'd have a tough time finding 6 btm trailer!

Are you sure the disc plow will work in your soil they just dont work everywhere you need light sandy type soil and then know how to hook it to the B.

I'm not sure it will. The dirt here is a grey loam, somewhat of a transition for sandy East Texas to Black Gumbo of North Texas. What do you mean about hooking it to the B? Doesn't it just hook to the drawbar?

Disk plows were all I ever saw behind John Deeres and Farmalls in the South up until sixtys and we have about every type soil there is. From Mississippi Delta to Sand Mountain Alabama is quite a contrast. Fords and Fergusens usually pulled 3 point moldboard plows though.

I have researched and found the model number for the plow I am needing. It is a B147, single disc breaking plow. Does anyone have one or know where I could find one?
Thanks
Deryl
