identify this loader?

A little mystery to get your blood flowing... can anyone identify the loader on my IH 434 tractor? There is no id plate on it.

I may be all wet on this but, Du-Al?? Several years back I had an International 240 with that brand and the only id was a pair of decals on the arm; looks similar??? I have also seen New Idea, but I don"t recall if they made their own. Good luck.

Hi Al, my guess is an IH 1550, it could also be an
IH 1501 but since it has dual action lift hydraulic
cylinders it would be a 1550. They were made in
Hamilton, ON, CA. The 1501 was white with black
lettering on the boom arms and 1550 was red with
white lettering on the boom arms.

Wow... that 1550 is a dead ringer. On my loader, you can see evidence of that square IH sticker on the side of the arm on the 1550. thanks a lot!

[quote="Jimb2; Wow is right. I can see the channel 'flair' in Troy's upper right photo. I suppose this loader was manufactured after the 40/60 series tractors were produced? For the local tractor show I would like to put my loader on the 340, but those things hide the tractor so. Jim, I also like the fact you show the tractor-loader at an angle so more detail if visible; good job.

Looks very similer to my DuAL. Mine only had the number painted on the side. My be DuAL made IH loaders also.

Al, I actually borrowed the photo from a tractor
scrap yard. I recognized the loader very quickly as
we had a 434 with 1501 loader then traded for 384
with 1550 loader. The only difference between
loaders was the paint color and the 1550 had both up
and down pressure.

JimB2 is right....likely 1550 loader since it's red and fully hydraulic. Most 1501 were white and manual trip bucket with no down pressure. You could get hy bucket on a 1501 though.

IH Canada made the 1501 and 1550 loaders as they were specifically made as farm loaders for the UK imported tractors like the 276, 434 , 384 etc.

The 1850 was the most modern version, it had dual bucket cylinders and a conventional bucket mount for wide buckets. We had one on the 384 we used to have.

How are you coming on your tractor Troy? I am at the last step on mine welding on some new arm ends for the loader. Going to get the pieces cut tomorrow, then maybe weld on Sat.

Hey, Randy -
I'm still working on hydraulics (fluid foams up after short time running). Went to Frost Farm (closest IH dealer) last weekend to see if they might have an intake elbow that I could retrofit to my hydraulic pump. My intake elbow is cracked and taking in air (my hypothesis). The maintenance manager at Frost Farm thinks the pump is bad.
I can get an elbow from Phoenix Hydraulics in UK for $7 + $70 shipping. After that sticker shock, I've spooged up my cracked elbow with a bunch of gutter sealant and waiting for it to set. Then try again. Nice work, eh?
