Im trying to figure out why this top cover is different then the other 5 h"s I have. The holes measure 7 1/2 inches apart by 5 inches apart. The only guess I have is its from a cotton picker.

Looks like a Super H cover to me. Either your tractor's transmission cover has been changed with that off of a SH, or your H is really a Super H.

thats what I thought, but the casting code is K, so that makes the cover a 1941. Am I right or wrong on this?

Can't see your shift tower or holes. If it is for a low drum cotton picker it will have two triangle shift holes rather than one shift tower, and the bottom of the top will be machined and drilled for both right and left shift forks.

Think the rear two holes were used to mount a O-4 seat when the top cover was installed on a O-4 tractor. Never thought to check a O-4 tractor to be sure some of the few times around one.
For a year, year and a half or so after IH quit making the slot top transmission cover for H tractors, only two bolt holes in covers were used to mount the seats. After that 2 more were added near the front set for a total of 4 bolts mounting the seat to cover on a H.
