What is an old style IH tool box worth?

I"m looking at this tool box, wanting to fix it up and mount it on the platform near the seat. Never looked at them before, how rare are they, what would one in this shape be worth roughly?
Thanks in advance.

My cousin in So Dak was cleaning out my uncle's shed and found three of them. She gave them to me because she knew I collected IH tractors. They are in varying conditions, but mostly good. I always wondered what they were worth. On the machinery my dad had had that had one of these, he always had an oil can in the oil can holder on the end (how about that for using "had" four times in one sentence). Roger

I had had to read it twice

What you meant to say gramatically better, "There was one of these on my Dad's machinery. He kept an oil can in the holder on the end."
See how easy that is :)

(quoted from post at 16:59:54 03/07/11) yep grain binder tool box. I have a couple, paid $5 for the last one at an auction.

I bought 2 at one auction. Don't remember for sure, but I doubt if I paid much more than $5 for the pair. One was full of brass harness rivets and some miscellaneous assorted junk. I've still got that one, and the stuff is still in it. I gave the other one to a friend.

You can find them a lot cheaper very easily - I saw a very nice one in an antique mall last weekend for $5.00. That is probably one of the most common tool boxes IHC made as I've seen them on various implements from back in the early 1900's up until probably the mid 1950's. I guess the most common use was on the grain binders but also on planters and mowers I've seen around this area.

I have one in my shed somewhere I'll give you.
It is covered in surface rust but not thru.
The tin is straight. It even still has the nails in it for the bottom, but the wooden bottom is gone. I was saving it but know I'll never get to do anything with it.
