i have bought a 660 parts tractor i was trying to find out what it weighted and the horsepower of the engine it is a 282 engine the only thing i can find is tractor data.com they say it's weight is around 9500 lbs with no ballast and the horsepower is 95 i have a560 with a 282 and the horse power is about 60 i know the rpm are 1800 on the 560 and 2400 on the 660 is this the only difference to make that much difference in hp if the engine runsi would like to put it in the 560

the rear axles have planetaries on them which would give you a gain in hp.along with the rpm increase. i have both tractors and its kinda amasing to go from one to the other. mine is over 11,000 lbs. with fluid and weights.

The engines are identical including the injection pump and injectors. However, there are early and late fuel systems. All 660's use a six bladed fan but only some 560's have it. 660's use a radiator that is about 15% bigger.

I would be interested in the sheet metal parts that bridge the space between the fenders and dash cowl. eMail is open.

The tractor is going to be FAST with the 2400RPM engine in it, not necessarily more powerful.

The 560's gearing is designed for 1800RPM, so everything including the PTO will be running 33% faster with the 2400RPM engine.

For field work, if you run in the same gear and the same engine RPM as before, you won't notice any power increase unless this engine is in a whole lot better shape than the one you're replacing.

You'll have to drop down a gear if you want to take advantage of the extra power from the extra RPMs.
