leveling crank shield

Does anyone know where I can get the round shield for the leveling crank on a Farmall 300? I have been to many metal supply, wielding, and sheet metal places for it but to no luck. Any ideas on where to find pipe that thin and the wierd of a diameter?

Part #6 in the parts illustration? I would find the closest larger piece of electrical conduit. cut it to length, then slice the side such that it is split. cut parallel to that longitudinal split to remove material. Use 4 or 5 heater hose clamps to make it smaller, closing the gap. When you have it trimmed to the needed diameter, and the sides are butted together, Tack weld or braze it at several points. Make sure it is correct, then complete the weld/braze to make it permanent. Jim

Thanks, I always learn from being on this forum as well. I try to bring what I know into play in terms that allow it to happen. Between real life experiences, and 37 years of teaching at all levels from Middle school to University, and being in 4H member and leader, there is a lot to draw on. The folks here are also very inspirational to me. Jim
 
Hadn't thought about shock absorbers. May look into that one.

The cutting and welding of conduit sounds like a very plausible route. And would give me some useful experience also.

The other route I was thinking was to use 1 3/4" thin wall copper pipe, don't know if it would be the right I.D. though. Do they make 1 7/8" copper pipe? I wouldn't think so but you never know.
 
Maybe a muffler shop that does custom bending and installs . they usually get raw steel , not the galvinized like the parts store sells . or go to local parts store and look through their stock for size and length needed
