Hello Gents!

Hello from... where am I? I can't tell because all the ocean looks the same. But, I'm carrying out the will of the American People, dropping warheads on foreheads... so you may be able to guess where I'm floating.

Obviously not getting alot of tractor restoration done. However, I did manage to purchase a new complete gauge set and new custom made cotton spark plug wires to go with the custom made cotton wiring harness I had made for my '44 H. RustyFarmall is currently looking for a new padded seat for me, and maybe the whole tube assembly since mine looks like crap. And I'll be hoping a great deal on a new'ish looking belt pulley falls in my lap.

So, while I can't do work, at least I can spend a little money on parts that I need. Once I get all the parts, then I just have to buy paint and supplies. Then I've got to find the time to actually work on the old boy, but considering we're turning this boat around in 5-6 months after we get back, and doing it all over again, that will probably have to wait till 2012. But that will give me time to save for new rear tires! :D

Hope all is well with everyone, and those that know me, know that I'm doing as best as can be expected at the half way point of a 7 month deployment. Take care!

Mike

Have a good cruise. My son the Seabee is on
deployment in Okinawa. He was happy he skipped the
hot spot this time.

Wespac? Hang in there man...and thanks. At least you have internet. We had a paycheck and an all night spades game LOL! :)

Thank you for your service and stay safe.
Closest I got to an overseas deployment " back in the day" was Wyoming

Good to hear from you Mike. Tell the Hornet drivers that if they need a volunteer, day sorties only , there's an old Phantom puke itching to go.
I'll be sending you my wish list soon. Write me private so I can send some otner info on.
How's the ice cream machine holding up. The one on the Connie, never ever made it as far as Pearl.

Just want you to know I appreciate your service for our country. Thanks from MN, and a wish for a safe trip back home.

Hi, IH Fan.

Were you by any chance involved with Atlas or Minuteman missiles at Warren AFB? I was a Minuteman III launch control officer at Warren from 1978-1983. The abandoned Atlas sites there were fascinating.

Mike,Good to hear from you!!!! Will miss you at Tulare this year! These old H's are good for the soul ,They just keep us wanting to make them better. God's Speed. You're in our prayers for safe return. Tony

Thanks for rejoining the troops here as well as there. When you are not on the tractor channel (my wife"s terminology) you are missed. Jim

Must be kinda tough for the average swabby to pull liberty in an Arabic country.

Don't let those Somali pirates yank your anchor chain.

Don't want to cause undue concern but we haven't heard how your wife likes your H. On the one hand, it might be all done when you get home as a homecoming gift or maybe it will pass you at night going in the opposite direction.

Mike, I've got a couple of those tube frame assemblies, but neither one is much better than what you most likely already have.

Thanks for bein' where you are, doin' what you do.

Fair winds and following seas.

Howard,

I'm regretting not buying that really nice belt pulley when I had the chance. If you find another one of equal 'show quality', hold on to it. I want it.

I need to find a link to your forum and pop by...

Hi Mike, good to hear from you. My son, Andrew got out of the Navy last summer and is now about halfway through school. Going to be a John Deere tech. He did a deployment to the Red Sea the summer of 2009. He was part of the VBSS team on the frigate and participated in several boardings of suspect ships. He was in pirate country. They really wanted to cross paths with some pirates but it didn't happen.

Take care, Gene
