I was wondering what to do to get a little more power out of my h farmall for antique tractor puliing? Maybe just little things like electronic ignition, bigger carb...? Let me know if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks.

I'd protest you if I saw it. There are a lot of rules for "real" antique pulling. If you are just pulling at fairs and festivals anything goes. Cheat your RPMs as much as you can. You can go 10%ish no problem bc IH did it right from the factory on power units.
You might as well not worry about more hp bc most Farmalls run out of traction before hp if they are on the low end of their weight classes. ie It takes 7500 lb class or more to stall out my SMTA. Anything lighter and I don't have enough traction to stall the engine.
MANY H's had the distillate setup. If you have that put regular gas parts on/in it and you will pick up quite a few hp. If you still want to play with your carb send it to Matt Gall at Motec Engineering in Tipton, IN. He can open up the venturi and thus shoot some more fuel in the motor. It is worth it.

What gas parts can be swapped out to beef up a distallate? I"ve changed the manifold, were the carbs different? Other than the manifold and head, anything else different?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, the gas carbs were big and round and the dist carbs were skinny 90* things to the best of my knowledge. Maybe I just saw a bunch of 300 carbs and thought they were gas H carbs though???
