RPMs on Farmall super C

The RPMs are lacking about 100 RPMs. Where would you suggest I start?

Max rpm is obtained with the bolt on top of the governor.

Plugs & Points is all that has been done.

Could check the timing, sometime a little tweek
on the dist. will bump it. 100RPM is not far off.

Your gov linkage is worn have you adjusted the top rpm screw and checked the carb linkage for proper adjustment. 100 rpm is not very much.

Make sure that the carb linkage is adjusted so that the rod to the governor is pushing the throttle open all the way when it is wide open at the hand throttle lever (not running).
Also make sure the governor arm is moved all the way with the rod from the hand lever when the lever is at full throttle.
If these are OK, the method Gene mentions is next. Jim

I would say, put a new spring in it. The spring opens the throttle & the flyweights close it. As the spring gets weak the RPM's will go down. Also check the holes the spring hooks in to . If they are worn you won't get full tension either.
