450 LP VALVES

I need a set of valves for a farmall 450 lp. Parts man at IH said I need to know the serial number of the tractor or valves to make sure I get the right ones. I bought the head out of a salvage yard and it did not have valves. Any ideas of how to order right one and where to get them cheaper. Thanks

The head part # is in the inside of the valve cover area. The Following are for serial #s as described. You do not have a serial # so this will just keep it in the ball park. Taking the head in might help a bunch. Jim
28 4 362435R1 VALVE VALVE, intake (gasoline) (liquefied petroleum gas C-264, 136834 to 161365)
28 4 362436R1 VALVE VALVE, exhaust (gasoline) (liquefied petroleum gas C-264, 136834 to 161365)
28 4 364589R1 VALVE VALVE, intake (liquefied petroleum gas) (see note S) C-264, 161366 up, C-281, 501 up
28 4 364590R1 VALVE VALVE, exhaust (liquefied petroleum gas) (see note S) C-264, 161366 up, C-281, 501 up

Maybe the parts person wanted to make sure the head wasn't replaced with another in the tractors lifetime, or maybe clueless.
450 tractors only used one LP head cast # 364586. If your head has that # on it should be simple to look up LP valves for a 450 or C281 engine. 400 tractors with C264 engines are also listed in the parts books with 450 C281 engines. 400 tractors used two different LP heads on them that resulted in two different length valves. Last type C264 LP head was the same as a C281 head.
