IH 66 series PTO control

Asking for a friend; Apparently when an aftermarket cab is installed on a 66 (I think) series tractor, it's common that linkage is installed to move the PTO control from right rear to the operators left side.
He would like to find that linkage, and is not having any luck. He said he tried Bates.
Any suggestions?

You're not going to find it new anywhere.

Bates isn't the only salvage yard in the world.

It's not that difficult of a part to manufacture if you have halfway decent metal fabrication skills.

If you could get a look at a factory cab lever I am sure you could make one like it. I used to put them on when we put on after market cabs.

It may well come to that. I have the time, place, and materials to do it, and he doesn't. But he's a ways away. He may even have another tractor with one on it for a pattern.

I have one that came off a 686 with a yearround cab. If you want to see what it looks like just email me and i will take a picture of it and send it to you.Or i can send you the whole thing. Erik..

On our year-a-round cab, we used 3/8 (I think) steel pipe to come across the back of the cab, and out along the lower right window frame. Welded an arm to the left end, and clamped a rod from it to the rod coming up from the housing. Pull down to turn on, up to turn off. You can adjust where the lever rides by where you clamp the rods together.

The 66 series factory cabs had a lever that bolted to the left side of the seat pedastal.

I bought a 1456 that had the factory IH " Diamond " cab removed from it . Tractor still had the pto control lever still mounted in position at the left side of the seat . I removed it and replaced it with a regular rear mount pto control lever. I still have the in cab lever. I'll look at it tomorrow and make picture for you. I'll sell it if you can use it. Send me an e-mail if interested.

I just looked at parts book for both 1456 and 1066. Same part number for cab pto lever for both tractors. 1456 used the IH " Diamond" cab ( actually known as Custom cab ). 1066 could have had the Custom cab or the more commonly seen IH " Deluxe " cab. Anyhow, same lever used in all of them.
