Along with grinding gears, do all A and B models have jerky clutches?, especially in reverse, even at idle. My C is smooth as silk, not the A and B. Thanks in advance to all who care to comment.

The state of clutch jerkiness is based on three things; the condition of the friction material, the adjustment of the finger height/condition of pivots, and the cushion springs in the driven disk.
The friction material can become glazed and contaminated, causing stick/slip action and is fixed best by a new friction disk.
The clutch pressure plate pivot points can become worn and or the finger tip adjusters (if it has them) was not adjusted right from the box. This can be fixed, and is done when the disk is installed. A uneven or warped driven disk cannot be used to adjust finger height.
The cushion springs on most organic clutch driven disks are located between the friction surfaces. They can collapse and or crack allowing the disk to have little or no compression on engagement.

Some ceramic Semi-metallic and metallic driven disks have no cushion, and are not going to be friendly when being let out.
Some of the issue is also the angle and operator placement that makes smooth let out be easier on some tractor configurations. Jim
