Can't decide if I should restore H with wheel weights?

Can't decide which looks better, wanted to get some input from others.

As far as functionality, I'll be using it for family hay rides, tractor shows, parades, pulling a 3 pt 1 or 2 bottom plow and a 3pt disc. I'll likely put a non corosive liquid in the tires like windshield washer fluid. I hate moving snow with a blade, some day if I have to move snow with it again I'm more likely to get a 3pt snow blower.

Don't know why but without the rear weights it looks nose heavy. If you got them use them. I would.

I think IH full size tractors have the best looking rear wheels in the business. I think wheel weights hide this feature. On my 766 i cut my weights into split weights. Bow i can put the weights on the inside without taking the cast centers off.
I also collect Cub Cadets, but i think they look naked without wheel weights. Kent

Wheel weights. They take two seconds to paint so you should paint them whether you use them or not. That way you never really have to make up your mind. ;)

I think they look a bit naked without one set of wheel weights on em. Here's my H after I finished it up...and upon admiring it...I also decided it was time to put a set of wheel weights on it.

In the name of function it really doesnt need them since all it does is pull a 7 foot haybine, small baler, and a few loads of tobacco every year. But Im witht he boys on this one...they look better with a set of weights.

When I first got my M, it had the wheels dished in. I dished them out, and painted it. First H or M that I've had without wheel weights. I liked the look..but I tossed one set of weights on anyways. I've been thinking about adding a second set. I think H's look okay with one set, or without them..but two looks out of place on a H..however I think M's look better with one or two sets.

M before:

What I've thought about doing:

I don't like weights on them. But of course I am a mechanic and always had to take them off or handle the extra weight. I had big husky farmers bring their tractors in loaded with as many as 18 front suitcase weights and little old me had to take them off, (at shop rate of course). Can't even lift one anymore. Just will also add, the weight on the M should be turned 90 degrees to make getting at those wheel bolts easier. Not a big deal, just my two cents.

All those weights look terrible, just put them on a pallet and send them to me I ll take care of them.

Like a number of other folks said, I like the look of my 350 better after installing a single set of weights. 300 lbs doesn't do a lot for traction, but since I could get them fairly cheap I tossed a pair on anyway. Of course, looks are completely subjective so you really can't go wrong either way.

Just a thought on the snowblower: you might want to consider the reverse speed of the H before investing in one. Might be a little too fast for heavy snow, especially at the engine speed needed for efficient operation of the blower.

That H will definately need at one set oaf weights and probaly 2 sets to do what you are wanting to do. Also if you plan on mounting anything on the 3 pt. hitch including a snoublower you will definatly need front end weights. I have an 8 ft. snow blower on my 560D with at least 500 lbs. of front weights plus a loader and I still feel the weight shift when I pick up the blower. Also to run that blower you will need live power takeoff and live hyd. if you don"t already have that. By the way that snow blower will make that Diesel smoke black like it"s pulling a 4x16 plow. The last time I checked the hp on that tractor it was set at about 67hp. to power a John Deere # 6 corn sheller. Armand

I personally think that they look better whithout the weights. If you are planning on filling the back tires, I do not think that you will find one set of weights to do anything for your functionality.

At least one set. Its only 300 lbs and completes the look. I'd use the split weights if you can find them. I have 1 set on my 504 and have another set that needs to be installed. I'd like 3 or more for my FEL. By the way Faster346, nice tractors!
