Chisel plow for 806D

Hi folks,

Does anyone have a suggestion for a chisel plow or disk ripper for an 806D.

I have adapter arms for the 2Pt but would rather use the remotes and a cylinder.

Thanks

Stan

Used to be a rule of thumb around here, 5-7 hp per shank, sometimes the ground,ie.clay, sand, black dirt etc, would figure 10 hp per shank, and then figure how deep you want to go with them for tillage.

In the soils around here it takes 400 Hp to pull a 7 shank disc ripper @ 16 inches deep. You might try something like the old Glencoe Soil Saver in 5 shank?

Guys,

Thanks for the replies. I will keep looking and asking. Might stop in at the IH dealer in Franklin, IN.

In or out of the ground? 15-17 seems a little more accurate.

We had to strip the JD 4430 pulling a JD 11 shank chisel w twisted point and coulter down to a 9 shank so we could pull it. I just looked and they tested 105 hp in Neb Tests. That would be 11.6 hp/shank.
Buddy pulls a 9 shank Glencoe twisted w/ coulter with his 9700 Ford. They were closer to 120 hp tested.
