Frankenstein Super A

I have been working on this tractor for about 3 months. I had a Straight A with a stuck motor, a good 123 cid motor, some left over Straight C parts and a sore left shoulder from the mechanical lift on the belly mower. So I started assembling a Super A clone. I call it Frankenstein. But it runs really good! Now to get the sheet metal fixed and maybe some paint after this summer.

Since the torque tube on a straight A is not formed or drilled for the hyd reservoir, tell us how you attached the reservoir. Or did you use the one off the C? I suppose the very latest A's may have come from the factory with the updated torque tube.

You do realize that the village folk came after the Frankenstein monster with torches and pitchforks...

That tends to happen on here any time you make a "custom" tractor.

According to Section 1066, paragraph M of the IH Correct Police code, you are in violation for creating a "custom" tractor by not using matching casting codes in your replacement parts, and using parts from a different model tractor not correct for the year the subject tractor was produced. You will hereby be stripped of your wrenches and all rights and privileges afforded thereof, heretofore and forthwith ad infinitum, ad hominem, habeas corpus.

CNKS, I used the torque tube off the C.

Mkirsch,

According to paragraph C, section 1466, Correct police statute Section 1066, paragraph M Does not aplly when said parts are destined to be melted down and used to create a John Deere..... Sentence Commuted and awaiting Pardon........

I think YT needs to start another forum called "CLASSIC RESPONSES". In it should go such jewels as this one from mkirsch:

"According to Section 1066, paragraph M of the IH Correct Police code, you are in violation for creating a "custom" tractor by not using matching casting codes in your replacement parts, and using parts from a different model tractor not correct for the year the subject tractor was produced. You are sort of creating a 140 , good hard work at this point that you have done , at least a few items are painted. Live hydraulics would be a great addition. Just put 140 decals on it and watch the correct police try to get you.

I had to build the battery box from scratch, The oil pan was leaking, so while i had it off... It will get painted, but not till after it has worked and has no leaks. I have been working on gathering the bits and pieces for about 2 years. Waiting for the correct starter, Just bought it a month ago. it is getting rebuilt. She is gonna work for my purposes and hopefully will run my mower deck better than the one I am currently using!

Thank U,
Joe
