Anybody know where to get a quality one aside of from Marks Tractors? I've been trying to get ahold of him for 2 weeks to no avail, I would like to see what other options are out there.

Check out Stainless Specialties. I believe they will either have one or will make it custom. He recently quoted me a straight pipe and the price was very attractive. You can e-mail him at [email protected]. Good luck!

Where is this Mark guy located? If I'm not mistaken he is less than 2 hours from me. Maybe I will just drive down there and ask him what the deal is!!! Maybe he had medical problems? If he is out of business you would think somebody would know by now.

Mark's address is 2636 CR 2300 E, Gifford, Illinois 61847. I've likewise tried to contact him without success as I've bought several mufflers from him along with other restoration items. Strange his phone number is still active if he is no longer in business but his tractor activities have always been something in the background from his farming. He was at last years RPRU and I spoke with him for a few minutes while buying a few things but he arrived after the show opened and was overwhelmed with customers so couldn't chat much. Good luck and report back anything you might find concerning Mark's parts business, Hal.

Dave, Where is this Stainless Specialities located as Mark had his mufflers made for him by someone but to some specs which provided the original sound they were known for. It is hard to believe that Mark just got out of the tractor restoration business as he was very well known and had more work then he could want. I'm sure he had a lot of investment in some of the items he had made special for him which he sold to other tractor restoration folks, Hal.

According to their website Stainless Specialties is in Cleveland, TN. I will contact them and see if they make Marks mufflers.

From what I've read and hear Marks mufflers are the cats meow if you want a stainless OEM sounding muffler, I'm just frustrated with having trying several times a day for 2 weeks and not making contact.

A couple guys in our pulling club bought them when RPRU was in Madison, WI. They all love them. Can't tell you what they sound like as I have never listened.
Mark may farm and then do the resto thing on the side, but that doesn't explain why he is nowhere to be found this time of year. I don't care if you have animals, you still are around this time of year. Trust me, there isn't ANY field work going on in Northern IL!

I wish he was around. I'd like a muffler for my H, M, and Super C. I have Stanley mufflers on them, and it might as well just have an open manifold pipe..they barely quiet anything down, I hate it.

Sorry, I guess I was thinking of Pilot Knob Restorations. They are down in Galena. Mark's is down by Danville. I get down there once a year for work. I will have to look him up if I get a chance. The problem is I am down there in the heart of planting or harvesting.

On a side, what do NB Cowman and Pilot Knob have to do with one another? When you open this site http://nebraskacowman.com/pilot_1.html You get a very boring Pilot Knob page.
I ordered some Allis manure spreader manuals from Cowman and he was indeed from NB so how could he be from Galena and NB???
