Help identifying H parts

I just got another H parts tractor with a seized engine and
noticed a couple of things with which I am not familiar. First
there is a distributor (I think) in place of the usual mag. The
engine serial number makes it a 1943, so I think this is not
stock. Is this an IH or an aftermarket, or does anyone know
anything about it? Then there are two lever handle assemblies
and two pivot brackets, for want of better terms. Are these for
an early manual cultivator, or for something else? Any
information will be very much appreciated. I also noticed a
clearly aftermarket mirror on the lightbar, I think that is the only
mirror I have seen on an open station tractor. Thanks very
much.

The distributor is original equipment. You could get either way, mag or distributor. The handles are for cultivators. The cultivators would have had hydraulic cylinder to lift them. The handles set your depth. Still have a set that I still use. The front brackets may have been for a front mount buzz saw, as mine has a setup similar to that. Hope this helps.

Thanks very much, that is a big help. I had assumed the brackets and the handles were for the same implement, but I can see that what you're saying makes sense.

460anger is correct except that distributers were not available in 1943. It is an IH distributer added later after they became available.

The levers are for a 238 hydraulic cultivator, the Hydraulic cylinders butted up against the levers to lift the cultivator.

The mounting brakets on the front of the tractor were for a loader. We had one like it on our Farmall M. I think the loader brand was called a Super six.

the front mounts were used for flag holders, lol. just kidding, the dist as said was instead of a mag. have one on my [late] H, 230, W6. the rod going to the front of oil cap, went for shutters.
