Farmall Super A Snowblade installation

Does anybody have pictures of how a front snowblade installs on a super A? I"ve searched online and this site, and have a good idea of how it hooks up, but I cant figure how the lower part of the pivot arm connects. When I removed the front cultivator, there is a square bar where the arm should attach. It seems the arm should attach with a long bolt through the the two "ears" directly behind it, but I dont think thats right. Do I need some other type of attachment? I could attach a photo of the area I"m referring to if needed. Thanks in advance.

It attaches to the square toolbar mount. A 3/4"x18" bolt goes through the square mount. Two square washers fit into each end of the square mount with a pipe spacer between them to center the long bolt in the square hole.

Thanks, I"ll give it a try. It did come with an 18" bar and pipe spacer, but the bar is 1/2". I wasnt sure if the square bar had to be removed, or I needed some other type of attachment.
Just out of curiosity, how come it cant mount to the two "ears" behind that area? I"m guessing it wouldnt be strong enough?

At this stage of the game, it can't mount there because it wasn't designed to mount there.

However, I suspect that those ears are not strong enough to withstand the tractor hitting a snowbank at full speed, as people seem wont to do.

How about taking a few pictures of those parts, before & after installation, please ?

I have a front blade made for my 200 that connects to the FH and to the front cultivator frames for lifting & lowering the cutting edge. It is soooo heavy, that it"s difficult to use. Maybe I could eliminate all the front cultivator frames and attachments, use your"s design and put on my 100

Sure, no problem. Sorry I didnt get any before pictures, I was out working on it and had it installed before I checked back here. My only concern as you can see in the front view is there isnt much clearance between the hood and the arm that connects to the hydraulic. I think a little grinding on the edge of that bar will help out. You can also see the two ears I originally had the pivot arm attached to, it's alot more secure now that it's correctly installed, and everything matched up much better. All it needs is some paint, but for now, I'm sure I'll be using it soon!

Thanks for the pics!

To those IH engineers in the sky -- How amazingly simple, lightweight and strong !

In southern Louisiana we don"t push much snow. Is this setup, or the same but a little beefier strong enough to push dirt ? I think I can see how to adapt my current blade to fit both my 100 & 200.

They surely dont make them like that anymore! One size wrench will fit every nut & bolt on the tractor! I believe this set up will easily push dirt, as long as you have some weight on the back.
I would guess the blade weighs 150 - 200 lbs. If you need any more pictures, let me know.

I'll check tomorrow, it should be readable. K-Mo gave me a website where I can buy a Manual for it - thanks again!

Be careful of the r/s headlite and bracket. I was working mine up and down when I first put it on, had the r/s headlite off but not the bracket and it hit the bracket and broke the boss out of the steering housing. I 'v' ground all the pieces and welded it with cast rod and so far so good.

If you are going to push very much dirt etc. I suggest you run struts back to that backwards drawbar. I busted out one of the holes on the clutch housing on mine. Then I built the struts.

I forgot to say in my previous post if you are going to add weight and move dirt it might be a good idea to put some braces from the blade pivot pin back to the drawbar or the final drives.
