400 Parking Brake Latch

How do you remove the latch? This is the pin in the rear deck. I pulled the cotter pin and I can't see how it comes out.

Are you serious?

How will you keep it from rolling on a hill with the engine running?

And the brake latch is at the front of the deck isn't it?

I may have miss read your post. You may want to remove it to rebuild.

It just slides out, but if stuck like most there's no way to drive it out. Sometimes soaking and light pecking for a few days helps. hard to do but if you can get it to turning, it can be worked out. Heat and cool also if needed. Hard to weld anything to the end also but a small nut can be and used to turn and work out with a grip tool. Lot easier to do with top cover off.
