F20 overdrive

I'm looking at an F20 parts tractor that has an overdrive on it. It looks like an aluminum box about 8" wide x 12" tall with a lever coming out the right side (pulley side). It's bolted to the front of the tranny. There is a bracket on the transmission, when the OD is engaged the OD lever comes up an locks into the bracket to hold it engaged. I don't see any brand or numbers on it. Does anyone have any info on it? It engages, but is there way to make sure it works before I put it on my '39? Any other info would be great! Thanks!

Oh it works. There ain't much to break. But the way those works you leave the main transmission in neutral when you engage the box.

So you just put it in overdrive, you don't have to shift between the gears? Would you know what brand that would be? Thanks!

Not a Heisler, Heislers are cast Iron and not square, they also overdrive all gears and the pto through the tranny. Sounds like He has the Behlen style. That style was copied by other manufactures that didn't mark them, quite possibly came from Tractor Supply.

That sounds like a Behlen overdrive. I know a parts yard that has a couple, still on F-20's, in s. central Il.
